About the Designer
I went to visit my 97 year old grandma one afternoon and exclaimed, "Hi, Grandma! It's me, Kim!" I always told her who I was because both her eyesight and memory were fading.
"You're my grandma?" she asked, her steel blue eyes questioning my identity.
"No, you're my grandma. I'm Kim, your granddaughter."
"Oh, Kim?" she started. "I know Kim real well. She goes places and paints things."
"Yes, Grandma, that's right. I go places and paint things."
Travel, as well as the elements and principles of art and design, are my soul fueled passions. As such, Kimberly Lyon Designs is equal parts travel blog, art, and design. I hold an MFA in Visual Communication Design from Indiana University Herron School of Art and Design, teach high school dual credit Graphic Design, and continually develop my drawing and painting skills under the tutelage of local artists in both Indianapolis, Indiana and Scottsdale, Arizona.
